Over the years, the skin of the upper arms increasingly loses its firmness and over time it becomes loose, and wrinkles are formed, the popularly known as “bat wings”. And it is the sagging skin of the upper arms that gives away a woman’s true age. An upper arm lift is performed when the skin and subcutaneous tissues of the upper arm become sagging due to weight changes, aging or heredity. This condition cannot be corrected by sports and can only be corrected by surgery.
The operation is performed under general anaesthesia and takes about 1-2 hours on average. The surgery removes excess loose skin and undercoat. The incisions are usually made along the upper arm (T-shaped, S-shaped or fishtail-shaped incisions), trying to make the post-operative scar as inconspicuous as possible. The post-operative scar can only be seen when the arm is raised or tilted to the side. The skin tightening operation can be combined with liposuction.
