The doctor completed his medical studies at Kaunas Medical Academy (currently Lithuanian University of Health Sciences). From 2000 to 2004, he was a doctoral student at the Kaunas Medical University Surgery Clinic. In 2004, he defended his thesis on the topic of surgical treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease. Since 2013 - professor of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, doctor of abdominal and obesity surgery, member of the Lithuanian Association of Surgeons, member of the European Society of Endoscopic Surgery, member of the International Association of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders Surgeons, since 2023 president of the Kaunas Region Surgeons' Society.
